About the Centre

St. Martin’s Centre is a local facility, providing a much needed outlet for older people at risk of social isolation in the community. We are based at St. Martin’s Church, Suez Road, Cambridge, and run our service with a mixture of both paid and volunteer staff. We serve the area of Romsey, Coleridge, Queen Edith and Cherry Hinton.

Our Vision is to provide an expanding range of services and activities that will enrich the lives and enlarge the horizons of both frail and active older people who may feel isolated in society. We do not accept the stereotype that interesting and meaningful activity and leisure time has passed by people of senior years. We want to enlist the help of the local Cambridge community to help provide value added activities that add to the core services provided by our paid staff.

We are very grateful to:
  -  Cambridgeshire County Council
  -  Cambridge City Council
  -  The Foundation of Edward Storey
  -  St Martin’s Church - for all their support
